As almost everyone knows, I love to read and collect children's books. I have also bought Dagney a lot of literary character themed toys and plushes. So, I got this idea that periodically, when I take her to get photos made, I'll have some made that incorporate a prop from a favorite book (I always take her own toys to give professional photos a personal, homey touch). The first of these was Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This was one of my favorite stories, and since it's about 40 years old, I'm sure it is a favorite of LOTS of people who will be able to appreciate these pictures!
Before Dagney was even born, I bought a set of Very Hungry Caterpillar overalls. I bought them in yellow because, girl or boy, my baby was wearing those overalls. I thought they were so cute. I also bought a matching hat and blanket and of course, the Very Hungry Caterpillar himself! Combine all these ingredients and you have the makings of an awesome interactive storytime OR a super-cute photoshoot.
