New Developments

It's been awhile since I've updated; Fall semester just started and things have been hectic! Dagney started daycare last week and she absolutely LOVES it. I love that she's happy there, because it has already made so many differences in her development and our lives. I ask her if she's ready for "school" and she just smiles and laughs. She used to fuss when we put her in her carseat; now she just looks out the window because she knows she's going to play. She's one of the younger kids in the class, and after only a couple days she started "talking" almost constantly. Now, she lays in her crib and just babbles at her mobile. She has also gotten really independent. Yesterday, I woke up to find her already awake, laying on her stomach (after putting her to sleep on her back) chewing on her hands. She hadn't even made a peep yet to let me know she was awake. She spent the rest of the day practicing her new rolling over trick (She started rolling over from belly to back some time ago, but just started rolling back to belly). Today she showed it to her teachers at daycare, who were duly impressed, I'm sure. We have met some of her classmates-- Joe, Ava, and Mali. Joe and Ava are older, and I suspect they are the ones encouraging Dagney to talk all the time. Mali is a couple weeks younger than Dagney, and all she seems to do is sleep. Dagney seems to like her teachers, Ms. Linda and Ms. Pinkie; she never cries when I drop her off!

I'm glad that she seems to enjoy it so much, because that kept me from feeling guilty about taking her. There are advantages and disadvantages to everything, and daycare is no exception. I miss her at times during the day, but that just makes me value the time I do spend with her even more. I also have the ability to work and get school stuff done, which makes me less stressed out and exhausted from being up until ridiculous hours. I have also found the time to get pretty good at cooking Indian food. One day last week, I even made bread! In short, we heart daycare.

Lunch is packed....

Dagney and Sally are ready for their first day!

On our way!

Dagney also went to her first birthday party on the 14th (Mya's), we celebrated Daddy's and Auntie Stephie's birthdays on the 20th, and she met her other Great-Grandmother this past weekend. She has been a busy little girl!

I have been busy redecorating our living room, trying to give our little beauty maximum exposure. Here are some of my favorite pics in the meantime :)
