Tanner Family Blog: Take 2!

Ok, so I'm going to give this blogging thing another go. I have made all the major updates over the last several months, and promise to do better in the future! Dagney and big brother Sammy are now the best of friends, after a rocky and somewhat stilted beginning. Sam is loving his new job at Avanti Polar Lipids and does not miss the world of academia at all! I have one more official semester of classes and then comps in December. Can't wait to be finished!

Dagney now has 4 teeth and refuses to be spoon fed anything. Everything must be delicately placed in the royal orifice by the princess herself, and she won't eat meat. Therefore, her meals of late consist primarily of fruit bits and junk-- goldfish, cheese puffs, etc. I really must find some form of fingerfood that is not nutritionally bankrupt. So far, the best we can do is quesadillas and pasta.

Dagney has a vocabulary of about 5 words (mama, dada, hi, bye, and no) and is quite the little dancer. She likes to wiggle back and forth when she hears good tunes! She walks all over the house behind her little doll stroller, but will not branch out on her own yet.

I have found an awesome cooking blog called Deep South Dish. It has great homemade Southern recipes like buttermilk biscuits, chicken and gravy, beef stew, and the best chicken and dumplings I've ever had. I have cooked several things off this blog and they've all been wonderful. I'll probably weigh 300 lbs by the end of the year from all that gravy and Crisco!

This past weekend, daddy took Dagney to Disney on Ice with her cousins, Abby and Katie. This is how they looked prior to leaving:

The ears didn't last long, but they were pumped! Actually, neither of them enjoyed it much (Dagney is a bit young, Daddy a bit old and male), but Abby and Katie had fun!

That same day, Dagney got her picture made with some bunnies for Easter (pics to come), and got to play with her birthday present from Grandmama and Papa early:

In the lap of Luxury in her awesome new wagon. Shhh! It's for her birthday!
