Dagney was born right before Mother's Day, which made this one particularly special. Sam gave me a gorgeous diamond dragonfly necklace. Alas, it could not compete with my other gift, but since he gave me that one too, I guess all's fair :)
I got to spend Mother's Day with my mom, too. The day was somewhat of a blur. With Dagney only 6 days old, I was still on autopilot and mostly terrified 24/7 of doing something wrong! Turns out, she's pretty resilient: By 4 days old, she had already gained back all the weight she lost in the hospital; at 6 days old, she slept through the night; and now, we're supplementing her with formula because no matter how much Gatorade I drink, I can't produce enough breastmilk to keep up with my little piranha!
