This weekend, Sam and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary by going to Montgomery to see Dracula at ASF. We had a very nice dinner at Chophouse and stayed the night at a quaint little bed and breakfast in the city. It was a perfect overnighter so that we didn't have to leave Dagney for long.
Sunday, we got home just after Dagney woke up and packed up to take her pumpkin hunting at Old Baker Farm, with a stop for ice cream along the way. It was a gorgeous day, but utterly unfall-like. It was so hot! This year, Dagney was old enough to enjoy herself-- she rode a miniature tractor, played in a truck full of cotton, and had a blast in the petting zoo. She got to meet a horse! She seemed amazed by his size, but she wasn't afraid. I think she thought he was a giant dog. She also pet a cow, but we had to intervene when she tried to love on a turkey.
Finally, we went on a hayride to go pick out our pumpkins. Dagney was glad for the rest from walking! When we got to the field, Dagney picked a white "ball"--- the biggest she could carry. She ran around picking up different ones and trying to bounce them. We tried to hurry, because it was very hot and Dagney was fading fast! She fell asleep on Daddy's lap during the hayride back.
After a nice nap on the way home, Dagney was ready to watch some scary movies! Sam and I put on Paranormal Activity (which we had never seen), and let me tell you, most of the mysterious creaks and bumps are lost when you have a toddler running around squealing! Aahhh, the sounds of parenthood!
