A Day at the Zoo

Today Dagney and I went to the zoo with Grandmama, Nikki, Amie, and Auntie Stephie. We had so much fun! They have a petting zoo, and our little fearless wonder absolutely loved it. Firstly, she fed a chicken nugget to a chicken, which got us an angry/disgusted look from a zoo employee. Then, when she couldn't get a goat to come to her, she ran to her stroller, grabbed a piece of biscuit, and tried to lure the goat so that she could pet it. So many other kids were screaming because their parents were trying to make them pet the animals. We could hardly get Dagney out of there! She had a conversation with a llama and was berating a sheep with her finger crooked at it. She also rode the lion on the carousel; she had an absolute blast!

She was totally amazed by the monkeys. There were spider monkeys swinging on ropes, and Dagney could not keep her eyes off of them. She liked the lions, too. Anything that required long-distance viewing, like the elephants and giraffes, she was uninterested in. The hippos were a no-show, and the tiger was sleeping.

Dagney woke up at 6:45 (when Daddy left for the airport) and stayed awake until we got home from the zoo at about 3:30 without a nap. She was just so excited, she would NOT nap at the zoo, even when we stopped to eat lunch. We had a repeat visit to the petting zoo before leaving, and Dagney kept running up to the goats and giving them a pat, then running away. She was so cute!

Dagney is the "llama whisperer"

I wish I knew what was this awesome!
