Dagney is cutting 2 more teeth on bottom, which makes a total of 7! Ribeyes, your days are numbered! Toddler 1 class is going well (3 hour naps have continued), except that Dagney and 2 other kids in her class are sick. Dagney has been running a high fever (102 or 103) for the past few days, and when I took her to the doctor today, they catheterized her to rule out a UTI! :( I had to help hold her down while they did it, and it was horrible. My baby squirmed and cried and turned red in the face. She was absolutely pitiful, but she mean-mugged the nurse so bad that it lightened my mood just a little. It turns out she just has a virus, so we're just playing the waiting game until it packs up and leaves (fingers crossed that it'll be quick!).
Yesterday, Grandmama and Papa came up to visit. We went to lunch at Jim n Nicks (Dagney got a balloon) and then to the toy store. Dagney was so cute. She pushed a miniature shopping cart all around the store, looking at everything. Early on, she found a little blue monkey that she really liked. She put him in her cart. Periodically, she would find something else she liked and she would stop and play with it, but she usually put it back down and walked on with her monkey. A few times, she added something else to her cart, but she eventually re-evaluated and threw the other thing out and kept the monkey. Periodically, she would just stop, walk around to the side of the cart, grab the monkey out and love on him, and then put him back in the cart. We stayed in the store for 30 or 45 minutes, and Dagney never lost her affinity for her new friend. Anyone with children knows that that is a long time for a little one to maintain focus! She carried her new friend around the mall, and when we got home, she curled up with him for a nap. She was worn out from having so much fun! When she woke up from her nap, Dagney tried the icecream that Grandmama and Papa brought her-- orange push-up pops. Yum!
