Oh, something really cute happened at her appointment-- Dagney made a friend in the waiting room, an 8-month old girl named Sloan. They played around for a while and Dagney admired Sloan's pink earrings. Then, just before we left, Dagney leaned over, open-mouthed, and pressed her whole face up against Sloan's-- her version of giving of sugar. The only reason I know that this is how she gives kisses is because she ripped Daddy's CPAP off one night to do it. And drooled into his mouth. Sweet.

Dagney's 1 Year Check-up
Today Dagney became a big girl on paper. We have strict orders from her pediatrician to trade bottles and formula for sippy cups and whole milk, effective immediately. Cold turkey. She got her measurements taken again (31 inches and 23lbs, 12 oz), and she's starting to level out-- she is now 90th percentile in both height and weight (as opposed to 97th, which she used to be). Her doctor is impressed that she's walking a little already, despite her large size (hey, somebody's gotta be the 90th percentile, right?), and that she has a 5 or 6 word vocabulary (apparently 3 is normal). She got the go-ahead to have peanuts, eggs, or whatever she wants. Yay! She actually tried eggs last weekend (Nona made her cheese eggs, raisin toast, and hashbrowns breakfast on Sunday), but I'm excited about her trying peanut butter. I know she'll love it. She's also going to start taking Flintstones vitamins, if I can keep Sam from eating them all! It was a good visit, until vaccination time. Dagney was brave, but those things hurt! She cried a little, had some milk, and went to sleep. My poor angel! But at least I know she won't get Hep A, pneumonia, chicken pox, measles, mumps, or rubella (fingers crossed)! We played hooky from school for the rest of the day to play a little and take a LONG nap! How can I deny such an adorable face?
