"Look Out, Chicken Sticks-- There's a New Tooth in Town!"

Dagney got a new tooth last night-- her right central incisor. That makes 5! It's a good thing, too, because she still won't eat anything that she can't pick up and feed herself. Right now, her favorites are mini corndogs and chicken sticks (super healthy). Luckily, she likes fruit too. So far, we have tried 5 different sippy cups to no avail. She turns them upside down and sprays milk everywhere. EVERY one of them says "no spill" or "no leak" on the package. And every one of them is full of crap.

Today, we drove to Alabaster and met daddy for lunch. After some tasty Mexican food, we drove back to Birmingham so I could go to the doctor. I have had a persistent (read, pain in my butt) cough for 3 weeks. Other than that, I feel perfectly fine. I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and got antibiotics and Tessalon pearls, which did nothing. So naturally, when I went today, I got the exact same treatment regimen. He's reluctant to give me steroids, because then I might actually get some sleep.

Speaking of sleep, I'd like to give a shoutout to the most awesome sleepy time toy-- the Fisher Price Soothe and Glow Seahorse. If you know anyone with a baby, get one! This was one of the first toys we bought Dagney, because we thought it would soothe her in her crib. After having it a couple weeks, we went and bought a second one for the car/daycare. It plays lullaby music and gives off a little bit of light-- enough for a nightlight, but not bright enough to keep the baby awake. Best of all, it plays for a LONG time! It's not like a mobile, where you start it up and before you even get out of the nursery, it has stopped playing and the baby's looking at you like, "hey mom, where ya goin' ?" There is one minor disadvantage associated with this toy-- it works on adults too. If I lay down with Dagney at naptime and Sally Seahorse starts singing, half the time I fall asleep before she does.

After seeing the pictures of Dagney's birthday party (and how ridiculously rotund I have become in the last year), I have decided to embark on the "Couch to 5K" training program. I have never ran in my life (unless something big was chasing me), so keep me and my O2 sats in your prayers. However, it's nice that I finally feel like I have a good enough handle on mommyhood to invest some time in getting back in shape. It took long enough!
